Isolation

July 20, 2002

Total trip a little over 13 miles. Took 8.5 hours.

Route:  Glen Boulder Trail, Davis Path, Mount Isolation Trail, Rocky Branch Trail

Gang: Cheryl, Eric, Dave, Jeff and Myong

This is a more difficult route than what most people (at least on this day) tend to take, but it is by far more interesting and more beautiful. The Glen Boulder trail is steep but the views are magnificent. 1975' at the parking lot, rises to 3729' at Glen Boulder, crosses Slide Peak (4806) and tops at Davis Path (5175). The Davis Path towards Mount Isolation summit is almost all down hill and a relatively quick hike for the distance. The views from the top of Isolation are great. A 360' panorama and well worth the hike although I can't say I would ever hike to this peak again - too far and/or I'm too lazy. lol
